A little about myself. I grew up in Philadelphia’s Mt. Airy section and attended Temple Sinai when it was still on Washington Lane. I studied chemistry at Drexel University and The University of Pennsylvania, graduating with a Ph.D. in 1981.
I lived, worked, studied, prayed and brought up a family in Wilmington Delaware. My wife Ruth is from Pikesville Md. My son Bryan is 25, and was recently married to Becca Sturgis. Bryan graduated Brandeis University - 2009 (Magna cume laude/triple major). He is currently attending JTS (Jewish Theological Seminary). My daughter, Andrea is 22 and graduated from Brandeis University - 2011 (Health and Pshycology).. Both Bryan and Andrea, both served as presidents of Hillel. Andrea is currently attending Massachusetts School of Professional Psychology. We live in Belle Mead, NJ and are members of Shir Ami.
I started my career at E.I Dupont in Wilmington DE. I led a group of researchers in the crop protection area. We were looking for safe and effective ways to improve crop yields. Our research resulted in over 30 issued U.S. patents and several publications. After 16 years of research at E.I. DuPont, I retired early to found Rupper Digital Art, a Judaic art studio.
My art work was reviewed by the Wilmington News Journal. Many of my animations and Judaic art pieces can be found
throughout the Internet. Shortly thereafter Rupper Digital Art merged with Computerworks© and JabahWeb©, a web design company was born. My main responsibilities were to oversee all art and design work, personnel and marketing. After 10 wonderful years I sold my portion of the company.
I was the director of Gratz Hebrew High school for several years. I now teach Hebrew & Judaica, take time to study and do volunteer work.
